
Jayna Tida, a British Actress of Indian origin. Best known for playing the lead actress Ayesha Merchant in the succesfull Australian Musical The Merchants of Bollywood directed by Toby Gough and chorographed by Vaibhavi Merchant. She considers this a dream role where she essayed the role of a classical dancer and film choreographer in a heroine centric Musical based on the life of the renowned choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant.
Jayna began her training in Indian Film and classical dance at a young age in London and later formed her own Dance troupe DXY, with whom she performed with at prestigious venues such as The Royal Albert Hall. Dance has been an integral part of her life both proffessionally and personally. As she believes Dance is an important part of an actors skill set in the Indian film Industry and Musical theatre, as it is a part of the story telling.
She still continues her training still in Kathak and Contemporary dance forms.
After attaining a degree in Medical Physiology from Kings College London University she decided to pursue a career in acting and began to divide her time between London and Mumbai.
Her break through into commercials was with the brand Clearasil.
Now a popular face in commercials in India and Asia. Her most popular commercial was for the launch of the new Honda City, which she gained alot of recognition for. Her latest Samsung Film Commercial for Asia is currently on air.
She has also starred in commercials for Pizza Hut, Capri, Dove, Sony Cybershot, Hp Laptops, Micromax, Airtel, ICICI and Dabur Hair oil.
Jayna recently featured in Shafqat Amanat Ali's Dil Kookay from his album Muh Dikhai. She also starred in "The Wedding Film" by Indear.
She was recently cast as Rani Sulakshana in the period drama Ek tha Raja Ek thi Rani on Zee TV.
